Massage Can Help Ease Effects of Cancer Treatment

Oncology is a part of science and medicine which is devoted to curing cancer. In the present scenario, there are many people who are suffering from cancer, and there are many deaths due to it. Therefore, different types of oncology are practiced, in different cancer hospitals, to cure patients as quickly as possible. One helpful service used during cancer treatment is massage. Massages are sometimes used for patients who are receiving therapies like chemotherapy and radiation therapy because of the side effects experienced during these treatments. With the help of massage, it gives a moral support with physical and mental relaxation. In the earlier days oncology massage was criticized because doctors believed that the cancer cells could dislocate from the targeted part and spread to another portion of the body during massage. This theory of massage causing metastasis was proven wrong, and it is completely safe for patients to enjoy a massage when it can be helpful. Cancer treatment is not an easy task to perform, and it may take a lot of time to recover and during the time of recovery such massage should be given in regular intervals referred by the best cancer treatment centers.
